Fall is here...

It was in the 50's here in chilly Michigan, fall is finally here. I had to dress the boys in coats and hats to play outside and we still had icy hands and runny noses. They did't seem to mind and even protested to come inside when their noses were red and fingers ice cold. Had to take a few pictures of them enjoy the fall day...now we just need the leaves to change color and fall off so we can get some leaf pile pics.

1st Day of School Pics

Little brother giving big brother a good bye hug.
Trey wanted to take one funny picture of him doing his version of a headstand. Thumbs up and I'm ready for school.

This was the best smile we got. He was really excited about his backpack and wanted to show it in the picture.

1st Day of School

Here are some pics of Trey for his 1st day of preschool! Trey did great and loved it. We were very nervous because Trey has been telling us that he is going to stand by the door until we come back to get him...also, Trey refused to go into his Sunday school class yesterday at church and threw an embarassing tantrum (yes kicking and screaming was involved). He told us he did not want to go in because he did not like the teachers and the kids?!? However, a lot of praying and a little bribe of a special after school lunch with Dad and we had success. Trey went right in and started playing with some of the toys. Someone else's kid was crying! When he came home he told us he obeyed his teachers and loved the water table. He is looking forward to going back on Thursday and bringing something in for show and tell. Pics are coming I have tried 6 times to put them on and it is not working right now.

Labor Day Weekend

We all went up north with our friends the Smiths for the weekend. The highlight of the trip was the boys catching frogs. Both Trey and Taatjes stuck their arms right in and pulled out their own frogs. Taatjes would get so upset when the frog jummped out of his hand and would not stop crying until he found another one to grab. Trey just did not understand why we could not take one home with us. We spent most of the day "hunting frogs" is how Trey puts it. I think all the frogs survived to swim away when they were done holding them.

Cotton Candy

Trey and Taatjes were amazed at the circus! Trey hasn't stopped doing what he calls circus tricks...balancing on one leg, pop-a-wheelies on his bike, and his favorite a clown show. He asks us to yell "the ponies are done now introducimg Trey and Taatjes the clowns". This involves a lot of running in a circle throwing balls in the air and doing a few twists. Taatjes gets involved by running in on his tip toes with his arms up in the air. They are adorable! Here are some pictures of them eating cotton candy during the show. It was a huge mess by the end but they loved it. When Taatjes was finished he was pointing at all the other kids eating cotton candy wanting more.
